Smart but naïve, overambitious BELLE (Karlee Roberts), 14, is going places. Her newest accomplishment? Class President. But when Belle’s mom disappears, she finds it increasingly difficult to cope with her everyday stressors. She discovers an online community of supportive diet bloggers who encourage Belle to use dieting as a way in which to take control of at least one aspect of her life. As if to fill her mother’s absence, Belle grows close to a new online friend, blogger ALLY, who assists in providing Belle with weight loss tips and tricks. It isn’t long until Belle’s dieting becomes extreme and she stops eating altogether. She feels on top of the world. Powerful. In control.
