An aging farmer hires a drifter to work as his mechanic. The drifter quickly begins an affair with the farmer’s beautiful wife, and the two conspire to kill him. When they succeed, a local detective becomes suspicious, and couple realizes that the success of this misdeed is a measure of how ruthless they become.
